A solo exhibition will be held by tanaka macoto, the Grand Prize artist of SICF20. The Grand Prize award winning work is a work that uses receipts as media, with some of the words printed on them, such as the name of a product or the name of a store, left as they are, in order to cut out various forms of gods associated with the meanings of the words. Not only her precise and sophisticated paper-cutting technique but also the uniqueness of the relationship between the meaning and the shape of the medium was highly evaluated where receipts which can be said to be evidence of human desires are purified by turning them into the forms of gods. In this exhibition, new paper cutting installations will be introduced with creative children’s stories as the motif.
